Olive Oil For Dry Skin – Why It’s Better Than What The Cosmetic Companies Are Giving You

Let’s face it.  A lot of sources featuring home remedies recommend the use of olive oil for dry skin, and it is true that this plant compound is very good for your skin.  All plant and vegetable based oils and waxes work wonderfully to improve the state of your skin, and it is a shame that more cosmetics companies don’t include them in their products.  Let’s take a look at what the cosmetics companies are giving you instead.

There are a lot of formulas on the market being advertised as being all natural, but very few of them actually contain more than a couple of natural compounds in them.  Most of what you get is a collection of synthetic compounds being passed off as healthy ingredients.  These manmade components can’t even come close to natural compounds when it comes to what they do for your skin.

The reason for recommending olive oil for dry skin is that plant derived compounds infuse your skin with antioxidants, and provide essential vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids.  Antioxidants are important, because they will help eliminate free radicals in your skin.  They will also repair the wrinkles in your skin that are caused by the oxidative damage that free radicals have done to your cells.

The synthetic compounds featured in most skin care formulas cannot provide your skin with the measure of healthy nutrients that plant based oils, waxes, and extracts do.  Chemically developed compounds may actually be damaging to your skin, and could be potentially harmful to your health.  Many of the chemicals that go into popular skin care items are suspected toxins and carcinogens.

The companies that refuse to include healthy, effective ingredients such as olive oil for dry skin often contain petroleum based compounds as moisturizers.  These compounds are not nearly as effective as consumers have been led to believe they are, and will often make the condition of your skin worse than it was before applying them.  They won’t do anything positive for your skin.

The truth about petroleum based moisturizing compounds is that they are too dense to effectively penetrate the skin, so what ends up happening is they just form a greasy film on the surface.  The presence of these compounds on the surface of the skin somehow triggers a significant drop in the production of your natural oil.  The lack of overall moisture this causes ends up making your skin dry, and flaky.

Not only would I recommend olive oil for dry skin, but a formula that features several plant based compounds.  The most effective form of olive oil that is available is a version called Olivem 800.  This compound features a lipid fraction from natural olive oil that dramatically improves the emollient effect on the skin, which leaves your skin both hydrated and rejuvenated.

Make no mistake about it.  By using a formula featuring this special version of olive oil for dry skin you will finally see the results that you have been after.  Don’t settle for using just anything on your skin.  Your skin deserves only the finest ingredients.
